It’s official, it’s now time for us to minimise our daily movements and activities to reduce the spread of the virus on our idyllic island and, although a couple of days on the couch sounds dreamy, the boredom can set in pretty quick.

For those of us who are still here in Bali, you’ll already know that your daily beach hangs and spa-days are off the cards for a little while but fear not, we’ve put together a list of fun things to keep you busy from the comfort of your hotel or villa. From learning new skills to embracing your inner DIY guru, we've got you covered!

NETFLIX & CHILL

We can only imagine the surge of new Netflix subscriptions right now, and for good reason. There’s no better time to finally get through those series’ you’ve been meaning to watch! While you’re at it, you may as well use the free trials of Stan, HeyU, Amazon Prime and all the other platforms. What if you never get this opportunity again? Make the most of it!

SPRING CLEAN

Start living your best domestic life! With so many people cooped up inside, it’s easy to get a little stir crazy and need something to keep your hands busy. How about tackling your wardrobe? Maybe cull your pantry, cupboards, clothes or re-arrange your lounge and living areas? In the words of everyone's favourite Japanese organisation expert Marie Kondo, if it doesn't 'spark joy' it's got to go.

COOK UP A STORM

There’s no better time than now to make the most of that fancy villa kitchen and release some creative energy. Bali is blessed with plenty of fresh produce, and most importantly, some home delivery services like Bali Direct that bring all of the ingredients right to your doorstep. Check out a Youtube cooking class and better those culinary skills, not only will it keep you busy but it’s also great for your physical health too! Our favourite Youtube cooking classes are by Tasty, they offer so much food inspo you’ll be spoilt for choice.

GET MOVING

So Bali’s gyms and yoga studios are off the cards and many of us have had to wave goodbye to classes, equipment and motivation. Although day one, two and three of self-isolation make for a great excuse to skip the gym, you’ll soon start to get restless. From intensive home workouts to calming yoga with online instructors, you can find everything you need to keep active (and sane) from the comfort of your home. Check out some of the many fitness and yoga apps or scroll through Youtube to find the perfect class for you.

WORK ON YOUR TAN

If you’re lucky enough to be “stuck” in a villa, make the most of Bali’s beautiful weather! Grab your favourite book, pop on your favourite playlist and laze the day away poolside.
