If you’ve been missing steamed baos with killer fillings that used to make headlines along Seminyak’s food street, great news: Street Boi is back—bigger and better!
Street Boi’s new joint
Known for a menu featuring Gua Bao and classic burgers, the humble hole-in-the-wall style eatery first opened in 2017 with only six bao variations, sides, and homemade sodas.
When we heard the bois were back with more goodies in a spacious 80s cinema styled space, we just had to pop by and check it out.
The KFC bao
Say hello to one of the most drool-worthy Asian dishes ever—steamed bao burgers. If you’re a first-timer, here’s the lowdown: image a soft steamed bun with loads of fillings (meat and vegetarian) and delicious sauces.
We kicked off our night with Chuck’s Bao. It’s a classic stacker with filled with beef and topped with all the cheeseburger essentials plus Street Boi’s own signature sauce. Heaven!
Next we tried the KFC Bao stuffed with Korean fried chicken and homemade spicy K-sauce. So good.
Glazed Popcorn Chicken
Remember the bites that made headlines back in the day? Well, they’re still here! Try the Mad Fries topped with pulled beef and smoked cheddar, or our favourite glazed Popcorn Chicken with hot Korean mayo.
Aside from the good ol’ epic buns and sides, Street Boi has expanded their menu to include wok-tossed Asian noodles and rice, juicy BBQ ribs and wagyu brisket, as well as salad combos—try the No. 3 with peas, broccoli, edamame, Japanese seasoning and calamansi dressing. Wash all the goodness down with one of their house sodas or get the boys behind the bar to make you up a tropical cocktail.
Pro tip: Street Boi’s offering a mean lunch deal of bao, fries and beers for only $10!
