Today I want to tell you about some of the details in a holiday in Bali. My job is writing a dissertation, but I got the idea to start writing my blog about my vacation in order to relax a bit. Here I will publish my mini travel diary, I will write about important details for visiting a particular resort or country.

Bali is one of the most beautiful places on Earth

There are volcanoes, rice fields, waterfalls and kilometer-long beaches with sand crunchy underfoot. Holidays in Bali can be very comfortable: the island has many stylish cafes, spacious villas and surf schools.

The best months for a holiday in Bali are May, September and October: at this time +28 ° C and sunny. Water is also +28 ° C - ideal for surfing or just lying on the waves without a single thought in my head.

We have put together a short guide about a trip to Bali. If you want to know all the nuances, read the detailed article about traveling to this Indonesian island.

Bali areas and beaches

Nusa Dua is located on the Bukit Peninsula in southern Bali. There are good sandy beaches with calm water, but the island is far from interesting places.

Kuta and Seminyak are classic Asian resort areas where nightlife is in full swing. It’s worth settling in these areas to lie on the beach during the day and walk at night. In Kut, there are many surf schools and equipment rental outlets.

Sanur is a tourist area. He is much calmer than Kuta. Sanur has beautiful beaches, many Chinese restaurants and diving centers. It is convenient to live in this area if you want to combine a beach holiday with trips around the island.

In Canggu and Umalas, rice fields have been preserved along which stylish European cafes stand. The beaches are the same as in Seminyak, but fewer people. From these areas it is also convenient to travel around the island. For surfers with little experience riding there are good conditions: gentle waves.

Ubud is located in the center of the island among rice terraces and the jungle. The coast is far away, and in the afternoon the road can take up to two hours. People come here to do yoga, meditate and contemplate nature.

Money

They accept cards in stores and cafes, but it’s better to pay in cash, and withdraw money from ATMs in the bank’s office. In Bali, skimming machines are very common.

Changing rubles to rupees on the island is unprofitable. The exchange rate for such an exchange is almost half that of the official one, so you should bring dollars or a dollar card with you.

Housing

Hotels

If you are traveling alone and want accommodation with a pool, the hotel will cost less than a villa.

The hotel can be safer: there is security.

For $ 50 (3820 R) per day you can find a good room 5 minutes walk from the beach.

In hotels cheaper than $ 25 (1910 R) per night can be uncomfortable.

Houses and villas

If you are traveling with a company, a house or villa with a handful will be cheaper than several hotel rooms.

A villa for 6 people on Air BBC costs from $ 119 (R 9092) per day. It is better to book for six months.

Houses worth $ 400-500 (30 563-38 204 P) per month may look beautiful in photographs, but in reality there is mold on the walls.

To save money, you can re-rent housing from local expats who leave the island for a month.
